Snowmobile crash kills Rome man

A Rome man is dead, after being thrown from his snowmobile early Saturday morning

Excessive speed may have contributed to a fatal snowmobile crash in Rome on Saturday morning.

Oneida Sheriff's Deputies say 38 year old Michael Hrim, from Rome, was riding on Trail C7F near Humaston Road about 12:45am, when his 2002 Yamaha went over a snowbank and went airborned. Deputies say Hrim was thrown from the snowmobile, and hit a nearby fence and trees. He was pronounced dead at Rome Emergency Room.

Deputies say the victim was wearing a helment at the tme of the crash.
