Son accused of stabbing mother, leading deputies on chase in Madison County
TOWN OF SULLIVAN, N.Y. —
The Madison County Sheriff's Office says a son is in custody after allegedly stabbing his mother and leading deputies on a short chase on Friday.
The sheriff's office says it responded to reports of a mother being stabbed by her son during a dispute on Taylor Road in the Town of Sullivan around 8:30 a.m. As deputies arrived at the scene, the son allegedly fled in a vehicle and led them on a short chase before being taken into custody.
Deputies at the scene found the mother stabbed in her neck and chest, the sheriff's office said. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of those wounds and is said to be in stable condition.
A portion of Taylor Road is closed as the sheriff's office investigates.
Deputies say charges are pending.
