SP: Motorcycle rider, passenger injured after multi-car crash in Oneida County

Oneida County

Two people were injured following a three vehicle head-on crash in Onedia County Friday afternoon, according to New York State Police.

Troopers say it happened just before 3:00 p.m. on River Road.

An investigation found that a woman from New Hartford was exiting a parking lot and turning onto River Road when she failed to yield the right of way and struck a motorcycle head on.

Troopers say the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were both ejected from the bike. The motorcycle then continued along the road and struck a Chevy pick up truck causing it to overturn.

State Police say the driver of the motorcycle fractured his leg and had other internal injuries as a result of the crash, while the passenger suffered a severe leg injury and had to be flown to SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

The other two drivers were not injured in the crash, troopers say.

An investigation into the crash in continuing.
