SPD identify man fatally shot while in his car in Syracuse

Syracuse Police have identified the victim of a homicide on S. Geddes Street.

Syracuse Police have identified the victim of a homicide on S. Geddes Street.

Police responded to the 600 block of South Geddes Street around 7:20 p.m. for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival police located a car that had struck a pole in the area.

The victim, identified now as 18-year-old Jaquan C. Moore, was transported to Upstate University Hospital but died from his injuries shortly thereafter, police said.

Investigators say Moore was stopped at a red light on S. Geddes Street near Seymour Street when he was shot. He then drove off before veering off the road and hit a building and utility pole near Gifford Street.

Police say they have no suspect information at this time.
