Speed limit on 690 reduced to 55 MPH during State Fair

Be prepared to slow down if you're traveling on 690 and 695 as the New York State Fair gets underway next week.

The State DOT is alerting drivers of a temporary speed limit reduction on I-690 and NY 695 in the area of the State Fair.

The speed reduction happens in the area every year when more people are traveling the highways due to the fair. A temporary traffic signal will be put in place on 690 to control movements out of the upper parking area.

The speed limit reduction from 65 MPH to 55 MPH will remain in place from Monday, August 19 until the end of the NYS Fair on Labor Day, September 2.
