A standoff in Solvay had ended peacefully after two brothers surrendered to authorities.
Solvay Police Chief Richard Cox said Jamie Athey, 22, and his brother Jessie, 25, came out of their Chemung Street home around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, ending a four hour stand-off.
Around 2:30 p.m., police were called to the home after a neighbor reported Jamie Athey was on his roof, waving a handgun -- although police said it appears Athey had a broken BB gun.
The Onondaga County Sheriff's Department and SWAT Team were called in after the two brothers refused to speak with authorities.
A reverse 911 call went out to neighbors, alerting them of the situation.
Police said it does not appear either brother was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Police said just an hour before the standoff, Jamie Athey allegedly threatened a neighbor with a machete. However, police were not able to locate the weapon.
Both brothers are facing charges, including criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.
