State Fair restaurant Empire Room will be open during the 2013 State Fair

The Empire Room will be open each day of the New York State Fair, Agriculture Commissioner Darrel J. Aubertine announced Saturday. As of last week, a caterer hadnâ??t been found to lease the Empire Room.

The restaurant will now be operated by Bedford Falls Enterprises, LLC. The Empire Room will be open from 9 a.m. to midnight each day of the Fair and the bar will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day except from Noon to 10 p.m. on Sundays.

The restaurant will offer a menu that focuses on New York State products. The bar will also feature New York beers, wines, and spirits.

Bedford Falls Enterprises, LLC is owned by Jay and Kathy Bernhardt. The family has operated the Empire Room once before, according to Fair officials. The company also owns Baldwinsville's Red Mill Inn and the Hotel Clarence in Seneca Falls. The family is partnering with Ben Eberhardt who manages the operation of restaurants at Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles and the Colgate Inn in Hamilton.

"We will offer Fairgoers a more upscale and sophisticated experience in a cool and relaxed atmosphere, complete with live music," said Eberhardt. "We're very excited to be a part of the Fair and believe that we will provide a great experience to Fairgoers."

Eberhardt says in addition to New York food and drinks, there will be a raw bar for oysters and clams, large-screen televisions for sporting events, and live jazz and blue bands.

The fair opens Aug. 22 and runs through Labor Day, Sept. 2.
