A State Trooper is in critical condition after his patrol car was hit by a tractor trailer on I-90 in the City of Amsterdam in Montgomery County, forcing a road closure.
The eastbound left lane at Exit 27 has been opened. The right lane remains closed at this time.
According to State Police, around 8:20 p.m. Monday night, the driver of the tractor trailer, Gary Blakley, 65, of Ridgeway, Ontario, was driving east on I-90 when he hit the patrol car.
The trooper was transported to Albany Medical Center. Blakley was not injured.
Police say a third car was also involved in the accident. The driver, Eric Heller, 57, of Stoney Creek was taken to Albany Medical Center for his injuries. His condition is not known.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
