Symphony has new name, goes to Oswego, Cortland with holiday concerts

The new name: Symphoria

The successor to the Syracuse Symphony threw itself a naming party on Friday night, with thousands in attendance for holiday music and the announcement.

'Symphoria' is the new name, and there was even a specially composed piece of music by that name in the concert.

The newly re-named symphony plays next at Oswego High School on Sunday at 3pm. A Cortland performance is set for Monday, both with holiday themes.

The Symphony also has a new website and promises to post specifics on the upcoming winter/spring season.
