SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Another candidate has been added to the race for the Syracuse Mayor.

Syracuse Common Councilor Joe Nicoletti has announced he will join the race for Syracuse Mayor.

Nicoletti, a Democrat, says he will focus on getting back to the basics of delivering first-rate service to the community. In other words, Nicoletti wants to focus on restoring neighborhoods. He says his priority will to become the "Neighborhood Mayor."

In addition, Nicoletti will work on fighting poverty and adding jobs to the community.

In 2015, Nicoletti was appointed the seat of the Syracuse Councilor-at-large and in November of 2016 he was elected to serve the position.

Along with Nicoletti, Alphonso Davis, Laura Lavine, Marty Masterpole, Andrew Maxwell, and Ben Walsh have all announced the will be running for Syracuse Mayor.
