Thousands of people gathered at Onondaga Community College Saturday to take part in the 30th annual Syracuse Heart Walk.
The Heart Walk raises money for research and advocacy for heart disease and stroke, the nationâ??s number one and number four killers.
More than 3,000 people laced up their sneakers for Saturdayâ??s event. The Heart Walk also had blood pressure screening, health demonstrations, entertainment and a fun run for kids inside the SRC Arena.
Participants in this yearâ??s event raised $450,000. Over the past three decades, the Heart Walk has raised more than $5 million for advocacy programs, education, training and research.
