Syracuse man arrested after police catch him pointing loaded rifle at pedestrian

A Syracuse man was arrested at about 9:35pm May 11 after a police patrol saw him pointing a rifle at another man across the street.

22-year-old Marvin Hethington was standing on the 700 block of Kirkpatrick Street pointing a loaded 9mm rifle at another man on Lawrence Street, according to police.

The officers saw Hethington with the gun and immediately disarmed him and took him into custody.

Police say Hethington had an argument with the man he was pointing the rifle at.

Hethington is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

No one was injured during the incident.
