The Syracuse Police say in a release that they arrested 21-year-old Mario Correa, of 335 Shonnard Street in Syracuse, after he was found walking on the 200 block of Herriman Street with a television and a pillow case that contained smaller items.
Syracuse Police say they responded to the 200 block of Herriman Street just before 12:00 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a possible burglary in process. A neighbor reported seeing a white, male suspect trying to get into a home through a window.
An officer was responding to the report when dispatch told him that the suspect had just exited the house and appeared to be carrying a television and a bag. The officer then saw Correa walking on the 200 block of Herriman Street and took him into custody without incident.
Police say an investigation revealed that Correa got into the home, located at 200 Hartson Street, through a window that he had broke.
Correa is charged with burglary, petit larceny and criminal michief.
Correa was sent to the Justice Center and is scheduled to be arraigned in Syracuse City Criminal Court on Wednesday.
The homeowner was not home at the time of the incident and police were able to recover all of the items from the burglary.
