Syracuse man charged for stabbing his mother

A Syracuse man is arrested after he stabbed his mother, according to Syracuse Police.

It happened around 3:40a.m. Sunday at a home located at 603 Oak Street. Police were called for a reported domestic dispute with injuries.

When they arrived, police say the found a 47-year-old female victim with a stab wound to her shoulder.

According to police, the victim said she was sleeping on the couch when she woke up and saw her son, 21-year-old Aaron Bell, standing over her with a knife. A fight broke out and Bell stabbed the victim once before she took the knife from him.

The victim was taken to Upstate Hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Bell is charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held in the Justice Center and scheduled to be arraigned later today.
