Syracuse man charged with second degree murder in violent stabbing attack

Syracuse Police have made an arrest in the violent stabbing murder of Bryan Sheppard that happened on Saturday in front of the Solvay Super Saver store.

Police say 31-year-old Jerry Benton, of 261 West Ostrander Avenue, turned himself in on Monday for the crime.

Benton is charged with second degree murder. Police used video surveillance to identify Benton. Investigators say the two men were familiar with each other.
