Syracuse man faces possession of loaded handgun charges
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
A Syracuse man was arrested Sunday for an alleged possession of a loaded handgun, according to Syracuse Police.
Frank Caskinett, 24, of Lilac Street in Syracuse, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.
Police officers were dispatched to the Player's Club at 1637 N. Salina Street for a fight with a weapon call. While on their way to the call, officers were provided with a description of a suspect and informed them that the suspect was reportedly in possession of a handgun, authorities said.
When they arrived, officers saw a male matching the description and when approached, the suspect began to walk away. Caskinett ignored several orders from police, then was seen throwing an unknown object toward a vehicle. He was taken into custody and police located a loaded black and silver Desert Eagle 44 Magnum handgun in the area where Caskinett threw the object, police said.
Caskinett was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment.
