A local suspect is behind bars and charged with murder after turning himself in to police.
29-year-old Josue Gonzalez, a.k.a. "Suave," of 534 Gifford Street was wanted in the murder of 32-year-old Angel Olmo.
Olmo was murdered around 2:25 a.m. on August 20th in the parking lot of 631 South Geddes Street. He was shot multiple times.
Gonzalez surrendered to Syracuse police around 10:00 a.m. Thursday, and was arraigned in Syracuse City Court on charges of second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler and other officials held a news conference Thursday afternoon to discuss Gonzalez's arrest. Fowler said a crime camera located near South Geddes Street was instrumental in helping to locate the suspect. However, police would not say what could be seen on the video, citing their ongoing investigation.
