Syracuse native wins award for Barack Obama reelection advertisement
Thu, 04 Apr 2013 14:39:10 GMT — A Syracuse nativeâ??s political firm won an award for its work creating a direct mail political advertisement for President Barack Obamaâ??s reelection campaign.John Balduzzi is a native of Syracuse and will accept the award on Friday on behalf of his firm The Balduzzi Group. The group was awarded a Pollie Award for outstanding political advertising, according to a media release.The award is presented by the American Association of Political Consultants and the judges include media experts in the field of campaigns and elections. The winning ad was produced on behalf of the Service Employees International Union, according to the release. Balduzzi began his firm two years ago, according to the firmâ??s website, after beginning his political career years ago putting up lawn signs for former Governor Mario Cuomo in Syracuse. Balduzzi is a graduate of Solvay High School and Ithaca College. He currently lives in the Finger Lakes.
