Syracuse pedestrian injured after Clinton Square crash

A Syracuse man is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a car late Monday night.

According to Syracuse Police, around 11:30 p.m. Onondaga County 911 received a call that a pedestrian had been struck by a car at the intersection of James Street and North Salina Street in Clinton Square. Officers arrived to find a man who appeared to be in his late 30s suffering from a head injury.

Police say the man was crossing James Street when he was hit by a Subaru Impreza headed west on James. The man was taken to Upstate University Hospital and is listed in serious condition as of approximately 4:00 a.m.

Police say the driver of the Subaru, a 22-year-old man, was not injured.

Police have not issued any tickets as of yet, and the crash is still under investigation. They say they will not release the names of those involved until family members have been notified.
