Syracuse Police arrest 15-year-old for stealing a car and burglary

Syracuse Police arrested a 15-year-old male in connection with a burglary and stolen car that happened on Sunday evening.

Police say a 53-year-old woman was inside her unlocked home, on the 100 block of Edgehill Road, when the suspect walked in, took her car keys from her purse and drove off in her car.

An officer pulled the car over by the intersection of McBride Street and James Street.

The three occupants of the car were taken to the Syracuse Police Department Youth Division for interviews.

Police say the 15-year-old driver confessed to the burglary.

He will be arraigned in Onondaga County family court.

The other two occupants of the car were both interviewed and released without charges.
