Syracuse Police arrest teen for shots fired

On Saturday at approximately 12:35 p.m., Syracuse Police responded to the 400 block of Hawley Avenue on a report of shots fired.
Neighbors told officers two men were shooting at each other. Officers were advised that one suspect was seen running toward the 300 block of Elm Street. Officers found a man matching the suspect's description in that area.
The man fled on foot when the officers approached, and was arrested after a short foot chase.
Officers found a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun near the scene.
The suspect was identified as 17-year-old Sayton Paul of Syracuse. Paul is charged with the felonies of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Syracuse City Criminal Court on Sunday.
The second male has not been located, and there are no reported injuries.
