Syracuse Police Chief's son subject of stabbing at Upstate Convenience Market

Syracuse police say the son of Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler, 21-year-old Frank Fowler Jr., was stabbed and assaulted by two suspects at 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning at the Upstate Convenience Market on 919 South Avenue, which is near W. Kennedy Street.

Syracuse Police have made two arrests in the case. Police have charged 23-year-old Demetruis Archie, of Onondaga Avenue with second degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Police also charged 23-year-old Antwan Underwood, of Midland Avenue, with second degree assault, resisting arrest, second degree harassment, and other charges.

Police say Archie was located by officers in the parking lot of the B&B Lounge shortly after the stabbing. Underwood was located Sunday afternoon at 122 Tyler Court.

An investigation revealed that Fowler Jr. was inside the convenience store when he was confronted by Underwood and Archie. Archie stabbed Fowler Jr., while Underwood also took part in the assault. Police are still investigating a motive for the stabbing. Fowler Jr. was hospitalized and his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.
