Police identify pair killed on Syracuse's West Side
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
Police have identified two men who were killed in an apartment on Syracuse's West Side Monday night.
Officers responded to the 1100 block of Avery Avenue in regards to a call. When they arrived, they were directed to an apartment where they located two male victims who appeared to be injured.
Both victims were determined to be deceased a short time later. Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said the two victims had suffered gunshot wounds. A witness described the scene inside the apartment where the men were found as "a slaughter."
The victims have been identified as 39-year-old Jose Castro and 31-year-old Arturo Resto Figueroa. Investigators said the relationship between the victims is not known.
There is no suspect information at this time, police said.
