Syracuse police provide disturbing details in brutal domestic assault Saturday morning that led to the arrest of 37-Year-Old Timothy Williams.
Police say the arrived at a home in 300 block of Hillview Avenue around 7:20am when they heard reports of a woman screaming.
Officers starting banging on the front door loudly, but nobody answered. It was locked with a dead-bolt, so they ran to the side of the home, removed a window air-conditioner unit and entered through the bedroom window.
When officers entered the home, they found Williams on top of the 31-year-old female victim, threatening her.
Police say there was blood everywhere and the victim was unconscious. They also found a bloody knife sitting on the floor next to the suspect.
Williams was handcuffed and police say he continued to threaten the officers and victim while he was taken from the home.
The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital with several cuts and is currently listed in serious condition.
At one point, police say while Williams was handcuffed on the ground, he wiped his face in the victim's blood and started laughing.
Williams is charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree and Strangulation in the 2nd Degree.
Police say they had to provide an old mugshot of Williams because they were unable to photograph him due to his agitated and uncooperative behavior. . He is being held in the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment in Syracuse city court.
