Syracuse Police are searching for the owners of a dog found dead this week at a home on the city's Near West Side.

The Chihuahua mix was found dead Wednesday at the home on Sabine Street when an eviction notice was being served. Police think the owners abandoned the dog in the bitter cold, leaving it without food or water. Police say the dog likely died of starvation.

The owners could face animal cruelty charges.
