Syracuse professor Thomas Maroney named Grand Marshall for St. Patrick's Parade

The Grand Marshall for the Syracuse St. Patrickâ??s Parade was announced Thursday morning. The honor for this yearâ??s parade goes to Thomas Maroney, a professor of law at Syracuse University.

Maroney is a first generation Irish-American, and he graduated from St. John the Baptist Academy. He is also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Syracuse University College of Law. He is a former Assistant State Attorney General in charge of the Syracuse office and a former U.S. attorney.

Maroney presently works as a labor arbitrator for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.

The parade will be March 9 at noon in Downtown Syracuse.
