      Syracuse Roadwork Information for June 9th to June 15th

      The City of Syracuse has released roadwork information for this week. A major project will include the closure of I-690 eastbound between Exit 11 (West Street) and the ramp from southbound I-81 to eastbound I-690. It starts Friday, June 13th.       Erie Boulevard West Bridge over Onondaga Creek . This City project requires a full closure of Erie Boulevard West between Plum Street and Franklin Street. The West Street ramp up to Erie Boulevard West will remain open. The detour will be as described: Eastbound from Erie Boulevard: south to West Street via ramp, east on Fayette Street, north on Salina Street, west on Genesee Street, south on Clinton Street, west to Erie Boulevard. Westbound from Erie Boulevard: south on Franklin Street, west on Washington Street, north on West Street, ramp to Erie Boulevard.

      Connective Corridor-West Fayette Street Project . This City of Syracuse project will detour westbound traffic on Fayette Street at South Salina Street; north to Washington Street, west to Franklin Street, south to Walton Street and continue to West Fayette Street. Eastbound traffic will be maintained throughout.

      Connective Corridor-East Project . This project will detour westbound traffic on East Genesee Street between Almond Street and McBride Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured at Almond St. south to Harrison St, west to State St. and north back to East Genesee St intersection. Eastbound traffic will be maintained throughout.

      Connective Corridor-East Genesee Street Project. This project will detour westbound traffic on East Genesee Street between Townsend Street and State Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured at Townsend St. north to Fayette St., west to State St. and south back to East Genesee St intersection. Eastbound traffic will be maintained throughout.

      Erie Boulevard. East . This City led project will include lane reductions on Erie Boulevard. East between Beech St. and Teall Ave. The project is expected to be completed by Monday.

      West Street . This City led project will include lane reductions on West Street between W. Fayette St. and W. Onondaga St.

      East Fayette Street between Westmoreland Avenue and Genesee Park Drive . This City led project will include street closures by block. Traffic will be detoured around the block.

      Eastbound 690. This NYSDOT led project will include a full closure of eastbound 690 beginning Friday, June 13 and is expected to be completed by the morning of Thursday June 26. Eastbound I-690 will be closed to all traffic between Exit 11 (West Street) and the ramp from southbound I-81 to eastbound I-690. The entrance ramps from Geddes Street and northbound West Street to eastbound I-690 will be closed. The Onondaga Creekwalk will be closed. The following detours will be posted:

    • For Eastbound I-690 thru traffic: Eastbound I-690 to Exit 9 (Bear Street). Continue north on Bear Street; right turn onto Genant Street; ramp to southbound I-81; ramp to eastbound I-690.
    • For Northbound West Street to Eastbound I-690: Ramp to westbound I-690; exit at Geddes Street; right turn at bottom of ramp; left turn onto Pulaski Street; right turn onto Bear Street; right turn onto Genant Drive; ramp to southbound I-81; ramp to eastbound I-690.
    • For the ramp from Geddes Street to eastbound I-690: Continue north on Geddes Street; left turn onto Pulaski Street; right turn onto Bear Street; right turn onto Genant Drive; ramp to southbound I-81; ramp to eastbound I-690.
    • For the Creekwalk: North Franklin and Plum Streets.
    • Drivers from the western suburbs should consider taking the NYS Thruway to Exit 34A (I-481), then use southbound I-481 to westbound I-690 to get into downtown or Syracuse??s east side.

      Westcott Street: This City led project will include a road closure on Westcott Street between Dell Street and South Beech Street. Traffic will be detour around the block via Dell street and South Beech Street.
