Syracuse teen accused of robbing another teen of a cell phone

A Syracuse teen is accused of forcefully stealing a cell phone from a younger teen in the 500 block of West Brighton Avenue just before 3:00 p.m. Thursday.

Police say a 14-year-old male reported to police that he was walking down West Brighton Avenue when he was robbed. He told police that a man approached him and asked to use his cell phone. When the teen refused to give him the phone, a struggle ensued and the suspect forcefully stole the phone.

Officers located the suspect and identified him as a 16-year-old from Syracuse. He was charged with felony robbery and was lodged in the Justice Center pending arraignment in Syracuse City Criminal Court.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
