Syracuse Ukrainian community prays for Malaysian Airlines victims

The Syracuse-area Ukrainian community has special church services this Sunday, in remembrance of the innocent victims on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17

Members of the Syracuse Ukrainian community included condolences for the victims of last week airliner shoot-down, in their Sunday church services.

The Syracuse Branch of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America also issued a statement:

"The Ukrainian Community wishes to express its condolences to the families who lost loved ones aboard the ill-fated flight shot down by Russian state sponsored terrorsts i Ukraine with Russian surface to air missile."

"The Ukrainian Community is saddened and dismayed by the loss of innocent lives as a result of this shameful and criminal act."

Both St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, on Syracuse's Tipp Hill, and St. Luke's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Warners held solemn requiem services on Sunday morning.
