Syracuse University officer struck by lightning released from the hospital
Tue, 17 Sep 2013 19:44:05 GMT — A Public Safety Peace Officer at Syracuse University was released from the hospital Sunday after being struck by lightning about three weeks ago. Syracuse University's Department of Public Safety says Stan Prue is in "very good spirits." He hopes to return to work at a later date. Prue was hit by lightning as he was exiting his patrol car on SUâ??s South Campus at the height of a thunderstorm on September 1. As his foot touched the road, he was shocked and thrown about four feet and knocked unconscious. A second officer, Ed Weber, was with Prue at the time of the incident. Weber was also stunned but was able to call for emergency responders. He was cleared to return to work a few days after the incident.
