Fans of New York flavors can get a taste of the state's best known foods at an upcoming harvest festival.
Tickets are now on sale for the Taste NY Harvest Fest at the fairgrounds in early November. The two-day festival starts on Saturday, November 2nd and features some of New Yorkâ??s most talked about foods.
Some of the food vendors include Syracuseâ??s own Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and Gianelli Sausage as well as some lesser known New York companies hoping to gain wider recognition.
There will also be a variety of New York wines and brews available to taste at the festival. Thousand Islands Winery and Casa Larga Vineyards are only two of the several wineries expected to attend.
Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance or $20 at the door. Advance sale tickets are available for purchase over the phone, in person, or by fax. Tickets can be bought in person at the State Fair administration building or called in at 487-7711.
Admission includes a free Taste NY beer or wine glass for sampling. Saturdayâ??s events run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. while Sunday the event is open 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The festival is part of Governor Cuomoâ??s $60 million tourism campaign to promote Upstate New York. More information can be found online at www.nysfair.org.
