Teen swings knife at officer after huge fight at Regal in Destiny
Syracuse Police were called to the Regal Cinemas at Destiny USA at about 8:45 Saturday night after a large fight broke out near the box office.
Responding officers saw several young men fighting, and quickly broke it up, arresting eight in the process.
21-year-old Lucas Dorell, 16-year-old James Walker and 16-year-old Antrell Walker were charged with disorderly conduct. Antrell Walker was also charged with criminal nuisance.
Police also arrested and charged a 15-year-old, three 14-year-olds and a 13-year-old with criminal nuisance; all of whom were involved in the fight.
One of the 14-year-olds was also charged with felony menacing after police say he swung a knife at the officer taking him into custody.
Four of the five were issued appearance tickets, while the one with the knife was taken to Hillbrook Detention Facility.
There were no reported injuries from the incident.
Destiny USA has a parental escort policy for any teens under the age of 18 on Fridays and Saturdays, but the movie theaters are exempt from that policy, along with Wonderworks and any store that has an external entrance.
