The City of Syracuse finds its holiday tree
Holiday cheer will be coming to Clinton Square soon with the arrival of this yearâ??s holiday tree. The City of Syracuse ended its search for the perfect tree in Nedrow.
The LaForce family is donating a tree from their property to be placed in Clinton Square as the centerpiece for the annual tree lighting ceremony.
The tree will make its way to Downtown Syracuse on Monday around noon where it will wait until the ceremony on November 29.
Some roads will be closed during the transportation of the tree on Monday.
Route 11 in Nedrow from Kennedy to McClary Roads will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. while the tree is cut down and loaded onto a truck.
Salina Street from Genesee to Water Street will also be closed. The closure will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. while the tree is placed in Clinton Square and secured.
