The closest races in Central New York will come down to absentee ballots

It is always said "every vote counts," and few people know that better than the candidates in the races that remain very close after the ballots were counted Tuesday evening.

Just 39 votes separate the candidates in the race for the 1st District Council seat in Syracuse. Democrat incumbent Jake Barrett has 1,595 votes to Republican Joe Carni's 1,556 votes.

For Onondaga County's 7th Legislative seat just 73 votes separate Republican Danny Liedka, who has 2,381 votes, and Democrat Lorene Dadey, who has 2,308.

The Elbridge Highway Superintendent race finds the candidates with 45 votes separating them. James White, the Democrat, has 590 votes. Republican Dennis Pelmear has 545.

In the Town of Cicero, the Supervisor position is a race with 138 votes separating the candidates. Republican Jessica Zambrano is leading with 2,685 votes. Democrat Judy Boyke, who has served as Supervisor before, has 2,547 votes.
