The Redhouse new home: we have a sneak peek
Syracuse's Redhouse is 'cozy' in its town house on the west side of downtown Syracuse, but next month expects to move to South Salina Street.
Construction crews have been busy re-working the interior for the theaters, rehearsal rooms, and other facilities for the arts center. We got a sneak peek through the eyes of Executive Director Samarra Hannah, our guest on Sunday morning's Weekend Today in CNY.
The move is expected in January: Redhouse has owned the building that was constructed for the old Sibley's Department Store, which closed in 1989, and most recently was office space. It's been empty since 2011.
Redhouse will use much of the space, but has areas to lease as well (in past years, deals to house business offices and more here have fallen through).
The Redhouse current production of I Do!, I Do! will be the last at the West Street facility. The musical is on until December 17th. Tickets are going fast, Hannah says, because people want to say goodbye to the old building.
