There's a good chance you regard many women in your life as wise.
The April edition of Syracuse Woman Magazine focuses on the wise women of Central New York who are having an impact on our community.
On the Talk Tonight on NBC3, Managing Editor Farah Jadran unveiled this month's cover. It features the Wise Women's Business Center in Syracuse, the 11th Annual Wise Symposium and women entrepreneurs that have benefited from the organization. Jadran will emcee this year's Wise Symposium on April 16 at the Oncenter. This month's issue of the magazine features many successful entrepreneurs inspired by the Symposium. It also focuses on the Wise Women's Business Center's three business trainers who share their stories on helping women reach their goals.
The April cover woman is Lindsay Wickham, the Wise Symposium coordinator and events and communications manager at the Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship. She has become an integral part of the Wise Women's Business Center, and she has been the mastermind behind the last seven Symposium events. The event has grown annually and Wickham hopes to make the Symposium a two-day conference by 2015.
The magazine also explores the Syracuse University Recording Studio and features two "Rockin' Women". The students run the label, record music and promote their original work.
You'll also be introduced to three inspiring Syracuse women, including Joan Ford, Kelli LaPage and Sarah Parsons who are making moves in the world of entrepreneurs. Rita Grimaldi, of Grimaldi's in East Syracuse, shares her family's history and how the restaurant business expanded. Grimaldi also shares her passion for providing customers with top-notch service and how she and her chef come up with signature dishes.
