Authorities say they've uncovered the third methamphetamine lab in the Elmira area in a week.
The Chemung County Sheriff's Office tells the Star-Gazette of Elmira the latest meth lab bust occurred early Tuesday morning when deputies searched a home in the town of Southport, on the Pennsylvania border.
Officials say a 38-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman who live at the home were both charged with unlawful manufacture of meth.
On Saturday, deputies arrested a 26-year-old man and charged him with producing meth at a home in Elmira. Last Thursday, a driver led police on a chase that ended at a Southport home being used as a meth lab. Two 30-year-old men living at the home have been charged.
Police say none of the drug busts are related.
