Thousands upon thousands of people left The State Fair very very wet Monday night. Many of them, possibly 30,000 or more, stood in driving rain for the free Florida Georgia Line concert at Chevy Court. Questioned by email if there were any major problems because of water, State Fair spokesman Dave Bullard wrote, "Minor water issues, which happen just about anytime we get a good downpour like the one tonight. However, the Midway did close early as a precaution. Both concerts went on."

The soaking rain was part of a second line of precipitation to roll through parts of Central New York Monday evening. "This second round did not have any lightning, and that is a good thing for The Fair," said CNYCentral Chief Meteorologist Wayne Mahar.
