Thousands of chickens killed in fire at Hudson Valley farm

Fire officials are investigating a blaze that killed thousands of chickens at a Hudson Valley farm.

Albany's WNYT TV reports that firefighters arrived at Sunrise Farms in Catskill around 2 a.m. Sunday. Officials estimate that between 6,000 and 8,000 chickens died and one of the henhouses was completely destroyed.

The farm is owned by the Lasher family.
