Tens of thousands of people are out of power across the state after severe thunderstorms swept through much of upstate New York.
The storms caused severe damage in several places, and left an estimated 20,000 people in the dark.
Trees were uprooted and utility lines were knocked down.
Rochester Gas and Electric reports that about 4,800 people are still out of power in the Rochester area.
National Grid is reporting about 15,000 outages across western and central New York. Crews are working to get the power up and running again.
