Auburn Police say they arrested three adults for allegedly using four children under the age of 16 to steal items from a store and a wallet from a vehicle.

Police say they responded to a report of a stolen wallet from a parked vehicle at the Byrne Dairy at 70 Arterial East in Auburn on May 19.

Police say Jennifer Telvock, Jeffrey Telvock, and Shantel Coyle, had gone to the Byrne Diary with four children under the age of 16, presumably to shop. When they arrived, a male child entered the store at the request of Coyle and stole a drink.

Then, the driver, Jennifer Telvock, the juvenile male, and another juvenile female entered the store.

At that point, police say Jennifer Telvock stole an item from the store and handed it to the juvenile male who left the store and returned to the van.

Police say the male juvenile then exited the vehicle and went to separate nearby parked vehicle and took a purse. The male handed the purse to Coyle, who was in a vehicle, and then got in the vehicle.

A few moments later, police say the male juvenile exited the vehicle again and put the purse back into the victimâ??s vehicle. The victim left Byrne Dairy unaware that her wallet had been stolen.

Police say the three suspects left the Byrne Dairy and Jennifer Telvock used the victimâ??s stolen credit card for gasoline at a local Sunoco Station. Jennifer Telvock then drove to another store and used the stolen card to purchase additional items.

The police investigation determined that a 4-year-old girl, a 7-year-old girl, a 12-year-old girl, and a juvenile male were all present in Jennifer Telvockâ??s vehicle.

Police say Jeffrey Telvock attempted to use the stolen credit card the following at another local store but the card was declined.

Police say it is alleged that the male juvenile was solicited to steal the purse by Jeffrey Telvock, steal a beverage by Coyle, and another item by Jennifer Telvock.

Based on the use of the child in the commission of the crime, and the presence of the other children in the car, child protective services were contacted and are now investigating.

Jennifer Telvock is charged with identity theft, forgery, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny, criminal solicitation, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Jeffrey Telvock is charged with attempted forgery, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal solicitation, identity theft, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Shantel Coyle is charged with criminal possession of stolen property, criminal solicitation, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The male juvenile will be petitioned to Family Court for his involvement.

The three adults are being held in the Cayuga County Jail. Jennifer and Jeffrey Telvock are siblings. Some of the victimâ??s property was recovered by police.
