Three hotly contested Onondaga County races have winners after absentee ballots counted

Three hotly contested election races in Onondaga County have been decided after absentee ballots were counted Thursday.

-Syracuse Common Council District 1, incumbent Jake Barrett won the race. Republican challenger Joseph Carni picked up one vote in absentee votes.

-Onondaga County legislature District 7: Republican Dany Liedka beat Democrat Lorene Dadey. Liedka was ahead by 73 votes on election night. Dadey picked up 24 additional votes thanks to absentee ballots, but that was less than what she needed.

- Onondaga County legislature District 9: Democrat Peggy Chase defeated Republican Bob Andrews. Chase was ahead by 177 votes on election night. Chase picked up five more votes in absentee ballots.
