Three people arrested for drug possession in Syracuse, following overdose

Three people were arrested for drug possession in Syracuse on Wednesday, following a heroin overdose, according to New York State Police.

Troopers arrested Eddie L. Brown III, 37 for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, and Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, following an investigation into a heroin overdose on Monday, in the town of Onondaga.

The victim of the overdose was a 39-year-old male, according to State Police.

State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), executed a search warrant on Wednesday at 216 Chemung Street apartment three, where they discovered crack cocaine, Molly, and illegal drug packaging materials, troopers said.

After the search, State Police arrested Michelle L. Johnson, 36, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, and Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

State Police also charged Willie Rhines, 48, with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

All three suspects were arraigned in Syracuse City Court and were sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center.
