      Thruway officials warn of phishing email trying to collect back tolls

      Thruway officials are warning about a new email phishing scam that appears to be an attempt to collect unpaid tolls.

      The New York State Thruway Authority warns that the email is not from them, E-ZPass or any other toll agency, an example of the email is pictured.

      If you get this email, officials recommend that you delete it immediately and do not respond in any way.

      E-ZPass does not send out emails to collect payment. Those notices come through the regular USPS mail.
