A Tompkins County man with a history of driving drunk was convicted Wednesday of drinking and driving again.
54-year-old John "Jack" McCord, whose last known address was on Slaterville Road in Brooktondale, was convicted in Tompkins County Court on two counts of driving while intoxicated.
The case stemmed from an incident in July 2012 when an off duty Ithaca Police officer saw McCord swerving on Route 13 in Ithaca. The officer pulled McCord over and found he had a blood alcohol content of .16 percent, twice the legal limit.
McCord has a history of drinking and driving that stretches back to 1984 and includes convictions for driving while intoxicated in 2004 and 2005.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 29.
