Town of DeRuyter lifts emergency for DeRuyter Lake area
The town of DeRuyter lifted the State of Emergency for the area around DeRuyter Lake on Friday afternoon. The town-wide State of Emergency, issued July 1, was lifted Wednesday evening.
The no-wake order for boats has also been lifted for the lake.
Town of DeRuyter Supervisor Dan Degear says DeRuyter Lake water levels have returned to pre-storm levels, according to DeRuyter Lake Association members.
Degear says road crews are continuing to open up roadways after repairs. He says Carey Road remains closed as well as other seasonal roads including Arnold Road, Chapman Road, and Richmond Road. A bridge on Old Route 13 (not State Route 13) also remains closed pending inspection.
Degear reminds residents that low to moderate income residents of DeRuyter can apply for assistance through the Townâ??s Flood Relief Program. Applications can be downloaded from the Townâ??s website or picked up from the Town offices or the DeRuyter Free Library.
