Tractor Trailer, Bus crash in Fulton

A tractor trailer in pieces after crashing with a tour bus in Fulton late Saturday night.

Routes 481 and 57, which were closed overnight because of a crash near River Glen Mall in Fulton, were re-opened about 10am Sunday morning.

Fulton Police tell us that tickets are pending after a tractor trailer slammed into a charter bus at 11 Saturday night.

The bus driver had just dropped off his passengers at the mall, after bringing them from a Yankees game. He is in surgery at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, with head injuries and broken bones.

The truck was coming north on 481, headed to Oswego with a load of produce. It ended up jack-knifing in a ditch, and broke in 3 pieces. Sunday morning, DEC response teams were monitoring a fuel spill. The driver has superficial injuries.

Fulton Police tell us they won't have an official statement on the incident til Monday, however we will pass along more information on the crash, as it becomes available.
