Traffic stop leads to two drug arrests

A routine traffic stop in New Hartford led to two arrests Tuesday night after police discovered marijuana and Molly, also known as MDMA, in the car.
A New Hartford police officer was conducting a traffic stop on Tibbitts Road for a stop sign violation around 10:30 p.m. when he found the drugs. 24-year-old Michael Mack and 23-year-old Ashley Diaz, both of Utica, were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Mackâ??s criminal record revealed 13 previous failures to appear in court. He was arraigned on his charges and posted bail. Diaz was issued appearance tickets. Both will appear in the Town of New Hartford Criminal Court on a later date.
