Trooper acquitted at 2nd rape trial in northern NY

      Trevor Donah

A New York state trooper has been cleared for the second time of rape charges involving an ex-girlfriend, though a jury in northern New York has convicted him of misdemeanor charges that include two assault counts.

Another Clinton County Jury in November found Trooper Trevor Donah not guilty on all counts relating to claims that he assaulted, unlawfully imprisoned, and attempted to rape his former girlfriend in September 2008.

The 33-year-old Donah was arrested last February after two women said he had attacked them. A third woman later came forward and said he also had attacked her.

Authorities said the crimes happened between 2008 and 2012 while Donah was off duty and involved women he knew.

In Wednesday's trial verdict, Donah was also convicted of misdemeanor counts of obstructing breathing.
