Troy fire labeled suspicious: Victim was due to give birth

Police have labeled as suspicious a fire that destroyed a building in Troy where a young woman was found dead.

Friends and relatives of the victim tell the Albany Times Union (
) the 19-year-old victim was due to give birth next week.

An autopsy was performed Saturday but Troy police said the cause of death hasn't been determined yet.

The fire was reported late Thursday night at a building in Troy's Lansingburgh section. The flames spread to a neighboring building as firefighters battled the blaze into Friday morning before getting it under control.

Police aren't confirming the identity of the victim pending the examination of dental records.
